ABOUT ULTRA FLESH ARCHIVES

(Be sure to join our emailing list for special early notifications!)

We love erotica of all types, although our interest focuses heavily on what is considered the “Golden Age” (roughly 1968 through 1985). Our efforts center largely around archiving and cataloging our own private curated collection of over 13,000 items (and growing). The bulk of our archive consists of approximately 7,000 magazines (going back as early as the 1940’s) and 5,000 8mm / Super 8mm film “loops” (along with some 16mm/35mm items), which we are unashamedly enamored with. Yet, that’s not all we enjoy and the collection also contains posters, paperback books, films, rare and one-of-a-kind collectibles, and so much more.

Our goals:

Restoration – We are in the (slow) process of digitally transferring and restoring our growing collection of film items from around the world in high definition with additional restoration as needed (including hand cleaning/repairing the films and color/image correction while still maintaining the look and feel of the format and era). A significant investment has been made to secure high quality equipment for us to not only do this efficiently, but most importantly, properly.

Preservation – Times are changing quickly and we fear these items will eventually be lost or forgotten. We are dedicated to the preservation of the era and have made it our mission to catalog these items as important documents of erotic and cultural history. That preservation effort will extend to making the archive available to others (video streaming, physical media and other ways still being determined).

Education – This is an opportunity to share what we know and expand on that knowledge. By cataloging our growing collection, we continue to learn about the history around the era, the people involved, and the impacts on sexuality and society. It seems we are constantly trying to identify the names of unknown models or loops and are trying to absorb as much information as we can from any source available, including other erotica fans.

Appreciation – Some could accuse us of being caught up in “nostalgia” or “romanticizing” (which isn’t completely untrue), but we regard these erotic works with tremendous affection and respect. As we have come to know many of the participants of the “Golden Age” on a personal basis, we also want to honor and appreciate their individual contributions. That appreciation also goes out to others who continue to document this period.

We definitely have some lofty goals with a lot of work ahead of us and hope you will join and support our efforts.

LONG LIVE THE ULTRA FLESH!
